Director of Climate Policy and Partnership

Neeshad Shafi is an award-winning environmentalist with 9+ years of experience analyzing global climate policy, strategy, and advocacy with a particular focus on the Gulf and Middle East. Neeshad is also an expert on the social movements and political dimensions of environmental policies in the Arab region. He was named in the Apolitical List of the 100 Most Influential People in Climate Policy in 2019 and 2022, respectively. He was awarded the ‘Middle East’s Most Creative People in Business 2023 - Saving the Planet’ Category by Fast Company and, in 2024, was listed in the Climate 100 List by Independent News, United Kingdom. 

Neeshad holds a master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering and is based between Doha and Abu Dhabi. He is on the board of several youth-led and civil society organizations regionally and globally. He is a widely published author and speaker and has shared his deep knowledge in the leading institutions and international media outlets.
