Salmah Anne Buchmeier, CPA

Chief Financial Officer 

Salmah Anne Buchmeier brings over two decades of expertise in governmental and nonprofit finance to her role as Chief Financial Officer at the Climate and Water Initiative. With a career spanning accounting, auditing, budgeting, and strategic planning, Salmah has consistently demonstrated excellence in financial management and reporting.

Currently serving as a Senior Business Analyst at Central Arizona Project, she is part of the financial planning and analysis team that produces award-winning biennial budgets, recognized with the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. Previously, she was an accountant for the City of Glendale, contributing to its award-winning Annual Comprehensive Financial Report honored by the GFOA for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

Her auditing experience includes working with Heinfeld, Meech & Co. PC, where she conducted governmental audits for cities, towns, municipalities, and school districts. Salmah is an active member of the GFOA and the Arizona Society of CPAs, holding a CPA license in Arizona.

She earned her Master’s degree in Administration with a focus on Public Management from Northern Arizona University and holds a BA in Accounting from Seattle University. Originally from Malaysia, Salmah has a passion for running and has completed numerous marathons over the years.
